Rabbi Aimee Gerace

Education Director

Rabbi Gerace received her BA in Jewish Studies and Spanish Language from Tulane University in New Orleans where she was named the Elizabeth and Fritz Krauss Outstanding Student in Jewish Studies. She began working extensively with Jewish youth in Los Angeles as an early childhood educator and youth advisor before attending Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion where she was a Mandel Fellow, received her MA in Jewish Education in 2011 and then her rabbinic ordination in 2013. She is also an alumna of both the American Jewish University Teaching Israel Fellow and the M2 Institute for Experiential Jewish Education Senior Educators Cohort.

Rabbi Gerace began serving as PJTC’s education director in 2017 and has enjoyed sharing and enacting her vision for Jewish education with the community. . Although there are many wonderful things about being education director, one of Rabbi Gerace’s favorites is deepening connections with parents and helping them feel confident enough in their own Jewish identities to be role models for their children. If she’s not in her office, Rabbi Gerace is either eating bagels in the parking lot with other parents or doing Israeli Dance in Wohlmann.

A native of the San Fernando Valley, Rabbi Gerace has made Los Angeles her home along with her husband Marco, their son (and B’nai Simcha student) Carson, their daughter Amalia, and their two cats. When she’s not challenging the norms and objectives of Jewish education, she finds great pleasure in her kitchen seasoning chili with hot sauce and experimenting with her Instant Pot, as well as walking around the neighborhood with her family.
