The first Rosh Chodesh of 2024 featured our esteemed temple member and author Regina Rock, who discussed her three fascinating books. She began her journey with "Post Holocaust Baby," where Regina shared memories of her childhood, growing up in New York as the child of refugee parents. Her second work, "Girl in the World," is a collection of short stories and poems. Her third book, "Displaced Between Promise and Dread," is a compilation of stories, essays, and poems. The discussion sparked stories from those present of similar experiences of living in New York and coming to the United States as a child. Regina also taught children and adults throughout her career. One writing lesson she often did with children was asking them how they got their name. Where did your name come from? She posed this question to us and we spent a short amount of time writing our own stories about our names. We then had an opportunity to read our stories to the group. These stories gleamed a lively discussion. It was a wonderful Rosh Chodesh hosted in the home of Nancy Carlton and was followed with delicious treats. I hope more of you will join in these at these special monthly events.

Please join us at our monthly Sisterhood Board Meetings, usually the first Monday of the Month on Zoom at 7:30 p.m. Our monthly meetings are open to all and provide an opportunity for friendship and to participate in the planning of Sisterhood programming and activities. I hope to welcome you as continuing and new members of Sisterhood this year.
