Hello PJTC,

Fall is in the air and fall means Men’s Club programming, activities and our financial support of youth and youth-related activities get kicked up a notch. 

 In early September Men’s Club cooked, cut, chopped and served up our annual (and delicious) back-to-school pancake breakfast for LBSRS students, faculty, staff and parents. Over 160 people feasted on the sumptuous buffet. 

 Men’s Club was responsible for renting the vacant lot directly south of the synagogue to assure there was ample parking for all those attending High Holy Days from Erev Rosh Hashanah through Yom Kippur. In past years we helped pay for the shuttle from a remote parking lot but the convenience of the adjacent lot was immeasurable. Many very happy families utilized the lot which helped keep the local neighborhoods a bit less congested for our neighbors and meant easy access onto the PJTC property.

October will see two major events being sponsored by your Men’s Club.  The first will be a Simcha Torah barbecue for LBSRS students and their families. If you fall into that category please come join the fun, food and festivities, all courtesy of MC.

Our second event in October, and one we are truly excited about, will be a “bagel breakfast” on October 22 @ 9:45 am. Our guest speaker that day will be Mark Goldstein, President and CEO of Entertainment Partners, the entertainment industry’s largest payroll, tech and software support company to discuss an insider’s take on the recent Writers/SAG strike, the long term effects, recovery plan and what the future holds. Mark’s exceptional position in the industry will make for a captivating discussion. The morning is designed to fill the time between LBSRS drop-off and pick-up, so please, grab a nosh and join us for this exciting program. Basketball resumes on Monday nights following the High Holy days. All levels, high school aged and older are welcome.

Our NFL football pool/raffle is fully under way and the first round of winners will be announced next month.  There’s still time to become a member and/or participate in the pool. Just follow this link:  https://givingtools.com/give/389
