Board Report - August

The main items considered at the August Board meeting were:

  • The Rabbi search committee has created a job description that will be published soon after the High Holy Days.  They have a detailed plan for interviews.  The Board approved expending up to $10k for search costs.
  • PJTC remains in a strong cash position as income has been above anticipations, although income is usually higher before the Holidays.
  • A fund raising committee has been set up.  The first event, set for November 5, will celebrate Edie Taylor.
  • Security arrangements for the High Holy Days were reviewed.
  • The JEDI committee made several recommendations, particularly for improving access to the restrooms.  Unfortunately, a real fix will be fairly expensive.  The ushers will be instructed to assist during the Holidays.
  • Making the Social Justice Committee a standing committee requires a change to the Bylaws and will be considered at a future meeting when there is adequate time to give notice to the congregation.
