PJTC Youth Update

Dear PJTC,

At the end of March, I was thrilled to see our USYers and Kadimaniks on the Bimah reading Torah and leading prayers for the USY and Kadima Shabbat service. It brings me so much joy to see teens participating in services, and it’s one of my favorite events each year. (Yes, I know I say that about every event—I’m so proud of how active and engaged the youth are!)

We’re in full gear for the Pop-Up Restaurant, having trained our Front-of-House Staff, Back-of-House Staff, and Decorations/Entertainment Teams hard at work on the final touches. This year’s theme, Episode IV: A Jew Hope, was the perfect fit considering it’s our fourth Pop-Up Restaurant. It has been a labor of love from the teens; from recipe testing to punny names for the dishes; from learning how to serve to putting on the apron for the first (or second, or third) time; from envisioning how everything comes together to it actually coming together.

This Pop-Up Restaurant endeavor would not be possible without the support of so many parents, congregants, staff members, and, of course, USYers and Kadimaniks. I’m just blown away by the dedication the youth have shown and the support (and schlepping!) parents and other PJTC adults have provided. We also can’t thank USY enough for their generosity, as this year’s Pop-Up Restaurant was made possible thanks to a grant from Far West USY/USY International. I can’t wait for you to see how everything comes together!

And, of course, if you haven’t yet already, don’t forget to RSVP! We look forward to seeing you, and may the Force be with you.

L’shalom,

Emily
