Bnai Mitzvah - January

Jack, son of Andrew and Shana, will be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on January 7th.  He was born in Chicago and moved to the Los Angeles area with his family three years ago.

As a seventh grader at La Canada High School, his favorite subject is English. Extracurricular interests include wrestling,

acting in local plays, playing with his dog, cooking, creative writing, biking and a nascent interest in diving.

Jack’s Judaic education started early in Chicago, where he attended the Jewish Enrichment Center, followed by LBSRS and as a member of our USY here at PJTC after the family’s move to La Canada.

For his mitzvah project, Jack has explored different opportunities through the Sierra Club and his school.

Anna Mukherjee, daughter of Dori and Matt Mukherjee, will be called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on January 21st. Anna is in the 7th grade at Flintridge Preparatory School, where she kicked off the year on the volleyball and soccer teams.

Anna is committed to trying new sports as they are offered throughout the year and enjoys being part of a team. Friends are very important to Anna and she’s grateful for the close friends she’s had since elementary school and the new friends she’s made in her first year at Prep.

This year Anna began volunteering with National Charity League and has enjoyed her time as a teacher's aide at Valentine Elementary. Anna’s parents and grandparents, including long- time PJTC members Karen and Clark Linstone, are so proud of the thoughtful and hard working young woman Anna has become. Her brothers Noah and Sam are looking forward to celebrating this special simcha with Anna and again with their cousin Max on the following weekend!
