Sisterhood Scoop

Women – it’s a New Year and we are here for each other! Kol Yisrael Arevim Zeh Bazeh.

It’s not too late to send in your PJTC Sisterhood dues for this year.  If you have not yet done so, please contact Aty Rotter, Vice-President, Membership  at 626.664.4509 or atalya19@aol.com or complete the attached form. You have the opportunity to participate at various levels.  And, you provide financial support through your dues.  Join us and find friendship and community.

Sisterhood was honored to participate in High Holy Day activities, creating the New Year greetings book and membership directory, selling challah, apple cake and rugelach to enhance your Rosh Hoshana celebration, donating apples and honey sticks to packages delivered to congregants who have suffered illness or loss in the last six months, serving as ushers during services, and arranging for floral arrangements for the bimah.

I would like to acknowledge and thank our Sisterhood members who produced our lovely New Year Greetings Book and Membership Directory - Karen Hochman Brown, Ruth Kaye and Arlene Weiss, supported by staff member Theresa Brekan. Thank you to all who supported Sisterhood with a New Year greeting. We appreciate your making an effort to support those businesses who placed ads in this publication. If you were unable to pick up this publication at PJTC during High Holy Day services, you can always pick up a copy at the synagogue office.=

Your Sisterhood is a proud Librarian-level sponsor for the upcoming Jewish Federation of the Greater San Gabriel and Pomona Valley’s Book Festival.  Celebrating 24 years and kicking off its programming at the end of October, this year’s Jewish Book Festival features many wonderful authors. Author David Sipress will discuss his book What’s so Funny on Saturday, December 10 at

7:30 p.m. via Zoom and in-person at PJTC.  Sisterhood will host a special reception following the author program.

Open to all Sisterhood members, please join us for our upcoming Sisterhood Board Meeting on Monday, October 3 at 7:30 p.m. via zoom in the comfort of your own home. We have so many opportunities for involvement which you will hear about during our meetings.

I hope to welcome you as a continuing or new member of Sisterhood this year.  If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me at (626) 798-5920 or iamyou082@aol.com.
