TORAH FUND -  September

By Bobbi Sloan, VP Torah Fund

We are beginning our 2022-2023 Torah Fund campaign. Letters will be sent out to the congregation asking for your contributions. These letters include a pledge card and an envelope to mail your donations. Last year’s generosity enabled us to exceed our goal. Let’s do it again!

This year’s theme is Chazak v’Ematz, “Be strong and courageous!”  The 5783 Torah Fund pin represents 80 years of the ever-increasing strength of Torah Fund and symbolizes the story of the Israelites preparing to enter the promised land when the leadership changes from Moses to Joshua.  The Israelites and Joshua are instructed to be “strong and courageous.”

Donations of all amounts are welcome.  Donors of $180.00 and above will receive a pin/pendant as a gift.  All payments should be sent to the Torah Fund office in New York. (JTS – Torah Fund, 3080 Broadway, New York, NY 10027).  Checks must be payable to Torah Fund.  Completing the pledge card is very important and must be included with the check.  This is how the payment will be applied towards our Sisterhood’s goal.   You will receive an acknowledgement of your donation from the New York Torah Fund office.

Education is one of the most important means of transferring the wealth of tradition from one generation to the next.  When it comes to Torah Fund, you are investing in the future of our children – an investment in knowledge pays the best interest.  Torah Fund supports the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York, Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in Los Angeles, Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies in Israel, the Seminario Rabinico Latinoamericano in Buenos Aires, and the Zacharias Frankel College in Potsdam, Germany.

Thank you to all of our donors for your continued generosity.  You are definitely making a difference!
