What is a Morning Meeting?

As the Jewish New Year is around the corner, LBSRS is gearing up for our own new school year which began on Sunday, August 28! In addition to our usual excitement, we are thrilled to tell you we have a brand-new part of LBSRS that YOU are invited to join!

It’s been a goal to create an opportunity for our entire student body (pre-Kindergarten through 7^th grade) to get together during a religious school session. But why just have the student body get together when we can invite the entire PJTC community?

From Edie:  A Special report just in from Rabbi Aimee:  “We have just over 100 students and people are still calling to express interest! “       

On Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM, we are inviting EVERYONE into the sanctuary for a Morning Meeting (We are not married to this name…we just need your help thinking of something catchier!). Morning Meeting is meant to evoke feelings of flagpole raising at Jewish summer camp with a few songs, a few prayers, a few announcements, and maybe a joke or two. In addition to giving our students an opportunity to (re)familiarize themselves with prayers, it’s also a chance for their parents and other adults to have a lively prayer/singing experience AND gets you to PJTC right on time for our other exciting venture: Sunday Center!

While our students are in classes learning, Sunday Center is meant to also give you an opportunity to take care of yourself holistically--whether you come for a work out, a class, a social justice meeting, or just to have coffee!
