USY and Kadima News Update - July

Dear PJTC,

From our opening Movie Night for USY and Block Party for Kadima to our Purim Sleepover and closing Knott's Trip, it's been one amazing year! Don't just take it from me—take it from Far West USY Region, who awarded us with the Chapter of Excellence award again, among nine other awards for various Programs of Excellence we earned for programs such as the USY Catering and Into the Mitzvah Day. On top of that, we have a PJTC USY member representing us on the Regional Cabinet for the first time (mazel tov, Noah Kronsburg!) in PJTC USY's history. A huge thank you to the entire 2021-2022 USY Board (led remarkably by Samuel Svonkin!) for an incredible year.

While the teens did an amazing job this year, we also couldn’t have done it without the support of Men’s Club, Sisterhood, the entire staff here at PJTC, and, most importantly, the parents. Without your dedication to calendaring for, schlepping to, and supporting our programming, we would be programming to an empty room.

We’ve got a huge year ahead of us for 2022-2023. Not only will our Pop-Up Restaurant return (4/23), but we’ll also be having an Into the Night again (date TBD). Before we get to those, however, we will kick off with our annual back to school Pool Party generously hosted by the Millers on 8/28 from 1PM—4PM (so head on over after LBSRS!) And, while I have you! Introducing...Machar! Jewish Social Programming for TK-2nd Graders! More details to come, but save the date 8/14 for a family picnic and informational meeting!

I’m in awe of the community here and the program, and I look forward to another wonderful year filled with fun and Judaism. We have an incredible group of teens on our PJTC USY Board next year, leading the charge as we continue to build meaningful Jewish friendships, and a lifelong love of Judaism.
