Torah Fund - March

Every year our Sisterhood Torah Fund Chair asks you for donations.  And, every year someone asks the question “What is Torah Fund anyway?”  First of all, let’s begin by telling you what Torah Fund is not. It is not a campaign to purchase Torahs!

So, what is it? Torah Fund is a national fundraising commitment of Conservative Sisterhoods across America to raise money for the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York, the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in Los Angeles, the Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem, Seminario Rabinico Latinoamericano in Buenos Aires, and Zacharias Frankel College in Potsdam, Germany.  Funds raised subsidize rabbinical and cantorial students, help fund various programs at the universities, and support programs that train future youth and lay leaders. The funds also help maintain the residence halls at the  American Jewish University in Los Angeles.

Our Sisterhood raised $ 7,124.00 last year. We have already surpassed this year’s goal of $ 6,500.00, having raised $ 6,821.00.  However, fundraising continues! Won’t you join us in this fundraising endeavor? Help strengthen Jewish education and ensure the vibrancy of the Jewish people for decades to come, with your gift to Torah Fund.
