Resetting the Table
Recently, PJTC’s Rabbis John Carrier & Aimee Gerace convened a workshop in partnership with Resetting the Table and the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles. The goal of the workshop was to develop collaborative deliberation outlooks and techniques in the face of strong differences. We found the event to be a great success and highly inspirational. Attendee, Susan Auerbach, had this to say afterwards: “PJTC is fortunate to have had the chance to partner with Resetting the Table to orient our community to techniques for having respectful, productive conversations across political differences. With this workshop, we saw how starting with personal stories and listening for understanding can help defuse tensions around Israel/Palestine discussions. What if everyone learned about and agreed on these norms for discussion at Israel-related meetings at PJTC?” This great workshop has energized its participants and sparked lots of ideas for diverse and vibrant opportunities connected to Israel in the coming year.
