Assistant Director of Youth Engagement & Education

We are thrilled to introduce you to Emily Fischer, our new Assistant Director of Youth Engagement & Education!

Emily brings a youthful perspective backed by experience as both a Youth Director and Early Childhood Educator from Congregation B'nai Israel in Tustin, CA to the position at PJTC. While she grew up in NFTY, she quickly gained a love of USY and Conservative Judaism at her previous congregation and looks forward to bringing that passion to PJTC. She loves working with teens and helping them develop their leadership skills, love of Judaism, and lasting Jewish friendships. She has an Early Childhood Education background and looks to pursue a Masters in Jewish Education. When sheʼs not working, she enjoys curling up with a good book, drinking inordinate amounts of tea, and rock climbing.

Emily's position synergizes youth empowerment and development, assuming Melissa Levy's former role as the Youth Director for USY and Kadima (youth groups), with the additional responsibilities of Kitah Zayin (7th grade) Teacher in the religious school, and Madrichim (Teaching Assistants) Coordinator.

Emily has begun working part time in July, and will begin full time in August. She can be reached at emily@pjtc.net. Please help us welcome Emily to our community!
