Melissa Levy
Executive Director
Melissa is thrilled to be PJTC's Executive Director, where she can help congregants deepen their connections with each other and their Judaism in the same community where her own children can grow and thrive. Melissa previously served as PJTC's Director of Congregational Engagement, Youth Director, religious school teacher and b'nai mitzvah tutor/coordinator. During her tenure she grew our now award-winning USY and Kadima chapters, and was individually honored to receive the Youth Director of the Year award at USY Regional Convention. She was also honored to represent PJTC as a "Woman Who Makes A Difference" at the Jewish Federation's annual event. Her success came from her love of helping Jewish youth to find their own "hook"--whatever excites them most about Judaism and prepares them to be empowered and socially-responsible Jewish adults. She's thrilled that now in her new role she gets to help Jews of ALL ages find their hook, while also helping ensure the behind-the-scenes processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Melissa graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Applied Environmental Economics and a Masters in Hospitality Management. Between degrees, she was a Program Associate for Cornell Hillel and managed the world-famous Moosewood Restaurant. She is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild and loves bringing aspects of her theater, music, and hospitality backgrounds into the work she does at PJTC. Melissa is happily married to her very own Prince Charming and has two children who enjoy PJTC as their second home. When she is not hard at work, Melissa loves to hike, play softball, sing, and cook whatever new recipe she can get her hands on.
