PJTC is an open-minded, inclusive, and intergenerational Jewish community, working together to share and promote Jewish traditions and values.  While our synagogue is affiliated with the Conservative movement, our members represent a wide variety of religious beliefs and practices with Judaism, and we welcome all who walk through our doors seeking a home to pray, to learn, to connect, and to celebrate with us.

Today, many Jews live in some form of an interfaith household, where one member may be a non-Jewish individual (spouse, son or daughter-in-law, grandchild, or cousin).

The term Keruv (“bringing near”) seeks to address the needs of these families, helping to ensure that our synagogue is welcoming to all, and providing resources to strengthen both family and Jewish life.

If you or your family whose life has been touched by an interfaith relationship and would like to learn more about Keruv efforts at PJTC, please contact our Cantor Ruth Berman Harris at or call 626-798-1161.

Here are the many ways you might want to become involved with PJTC:

Worship with Us!
– Weekday, Shabbat, and holiday services are open to members of all faiths and we welcome you to join us. Transliterated copies of our prayer book are available in the pews, while our greeters are available to help you with questions.

Celebrate with Us!
–We welcome you to mark lifecycle events like baby namings, birthdays, b’nai mitzvah and more here in our community. Non-Jewish individuals are welcome to participant in these ceremonies in various ways. Rabbi Raucher is always available to discuss options for celebrating together.

Lean on Us in Difficult Times!
– In the event that a non-Jewish spouse affiliated with our congregation loses a loved one, Rabbi Raucher and Cantor Ruth are always available for comfort and support. Judaism offers much in the way of mourning practices and many Jewish traditions are universal in their ability to provide solace at a time of loss.

Learn with Us!
– One need not be Jewish to take advantage of the many diverse cultural and educational opportunities offered by our synagogue, and everyone is welcome to attend our many, varied programs and classes. We also welcome the opportunity to help provide your child with a Jewish education and would be happy to meet with you to discuss our excellent Louis B. Silver Religious School for students Pre-K-7th grade and teen programming for 8th -12th graders.

Let Us Get to Know You!
– We would love to meet you for a cup of coffee and to learn more about your family.
