Yahrzeit Plaques:

Yahrzeit is the yearly anniversary (according to the Hebrew calendar) of a loved one’s death.  Jews observe yahrzeit at home the night before by lighting a special long-burning candle in memory of the deceased.  Yahrzeit is also observed by reciting the Mourner’s Kaddish at services.  Please let us know the name and yahrzeit of your beloved ones and we will honor their memory by announcing their names prior to reciting the Mourner’s Kaddish during services.

PJTC maintains a beautiful memorial wall of plaques bearing the names of our deceased members or deceased loved ones of our members.  You may purchase a bronze plaque which will be illuminated each year on Yizkor and on the day or week of the deceased’s yahrzeit.

If you wish to order a Yahrzeit Plaque, the cost is $420. Please click on the link to fill out the Yahrzeit Plaque Order Form, and click here to pay for the plaque.

Legacy Giving

Join our Ohr Tamid Society!  EVERYONE who includes PJTC in your estate plans or your will is welcome. You don’t have to be wealthy to make a legacy gift!  Gifts of all sizes are deeply appreciated.

By providing for PJTC in your estate plan, you become a permanent partner with our historic synagogue.  Giving in this manner provides a way for you to keep your presence alive, preserve a life-long connection with PJTC, and broaden your impact on your community.  Also, you send a message to your family about the importance of PJTC in your life, in the hopes that they will be more likely to stay involved and support it themselves.

Naming PJTC in your will or adding a codicil is the most popular way to make a legacy gift.  Also, many donors assign a life insurance policy to PJTC as sole beneficiary and owner of the policy.

We also offer the opportunity to name an endowment fund at PJTC, a beautiful way to honor your family or someone you love in a significant, lasting way.

Please let us know if you have PJTC in your estate plans. We certainly want to thank you and welcome you into our Ohr Tamid Society!  There are many ways to give which we will be happy to discuss with you.  Please contact the director of philanthropy at 626-798-1161 ext. 121 or at or the executive director at ext. 105 or at

The sculpture on the 2nd floor overlooking the main lobby represents the Pasadena Jewish Temple and Center’s Tree of Life.  The Tree’s golden leaves become perpetual symbols of the joys of life.

The golden leaves may be inscribed to highlight or commemorate such happy events as births, weddings, anniversaries, graduations, Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations, or to honor living parents, family or friends.

Share the happiness by inscribing your family’s “simchas” on the Pasadena Jewish Temple and Center Tree of Life . . . a permanent dedication to the meaningful and happy events that touch our lives.

A Tree of Life plaque is $150, please click here to access the form.
