Youth Director - Melissa Levy Melissa is thrilled to be in her third year as the Youth Director at PJTC, where she is also b'nai mitzvah tutor and 4th grade religious school teacher. Last year Melissa was honored to receive the Youth Director of the Year award at USY Regional Convention. She loves helping Jewish youth to find their own "hook"--whatever excites them most about Judaism and prepares them to be empowered and socially-responsible Jewish adults. Melissa graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Applied Environmental Economics and a Masters in Hospitality Management. In between degrees, she was a Program Associate for Cornell Hillel, and she managed the world-famous Moosewood Restaurant. Melissa is happily married to her very own Prince Charming. When she is not at shul, she is pursuing her acting career. She also loves to hike with her dog, play softball, sing, and cook whatever new recipe she can get her hands on.
Youth Adviser - Aaren Heller
Aaren grew up at PJTC and was a USY member throughout high school. She earned a Bachelors in English at Boston University and a Masters in Teaching at UC Irvine. Currently Aaren teaches Chemistry and Physics at Westminister High School. In her free time Aaren enjoys reading, knitting, running half marathons with her mom, Krav Maga, hanging out at the Renaissance faire, sewing costumes, going to Disneyland, making music, and anything related to Harry Potter. What she loves most about USY is watching Jewish friendships and identities blossom as well as all the great fun we always have!
