About
Sisterhood

Your Pasadena Jewish Temple & Center Sisterhood is affiliated with the Pacific Southwest Branch of the Women's League for Conservative Judaism whose goal is the perpetuation of traditional Judaism in the home, the synagogue and the community. Every synagogue member has an opportunity to affiliate with Sisterhood by becoming a dues-paying member.

Sisterhood:

  1. Promotes Jewish friendships through religious, educational, cultural, civic, social and recreational events

  2. Stresses ethical and religious practices in every day living

  3. Supports the Temple's education program

  4. Raises funds to improve the Temple's facilities

  5. Promotes the Torah Fund Campaign

  6. Develops the personal growth of each member

As a member of Sisterhood, you have an opportunity to volunteer for any number of social, educational and enrichment programs and activities from planning a Shabbat Oneg to advocating for social action causes in the community.

Sisterhood is…

…a community of women joined together to do more than each could alone.

Sisterhood is…

…a group of women — wives, sisters, grandmothers, doctors, lawyers, and individuals — trying to balance the many diverse demands in the all-too-few hours of each day. Sisterhood offers programs especially designed to meet your needs.

Sisterhood is…

…a gathering of women with concerns about their environment, their community, their country and their people — all seeking to make the world better than they found it.

Sisterhood is…

…a home for strengthening our faith, learning its precepts, and establishing a meaningful Jewish lifestyle.

Sisterhood is…

…an opportunity for women to find a purpose behind the here and now, to find meaning in something greater than themselves.

Sisterhood is…

…a place for the special bonding of women who share friendships, who understand and appreciate each other and the work of their hands, minds, and spirits.

Sisterhood is…

…the heart of a congregation, filled with love, warmth, courage and strength.

I look forward to welcoming you as continuing and new members of Sisterhood this year. You can contact me with any questions, concerns and ideas at sisterhood@pjtc.net.
