Shabbat

The Holiday that comes once a week

Knowing the joys that Shabbat can bring comes with experience. Here at PJTC, we’ll provide those opportunities to generate that joy no matter what your age. We hope you will join us for these Shabbat services and activities for children and families with children and get that Shabbat feeling.

Early Family Friday Night Service
Pre-Schoolers

This service is led by Cantor Judy Sofer and Judy Callahan, Director of B’nai Simcha Preschool. It takes place on the first Shabbat of the month beginning at 7pm. We welcome families with young children to a kid-friendly service which which brings in Shabbat with song and joy. It is followed by a festive, kid-style oneg.

My Shabbat Space
Grades 3 Thru 7

A brand new Junior Congregation under the direction of dynamic and creative Rabbinic Intern Adam Stein, will give students the opportunity to lead their own congregation in prayer once a month on Saturday mornings from 10:30am to 11:30 am. My Shabbat Space will, of course, be followed by an oneg Shabbat fit for the pre-teen population.

Kindershule
Ages 5 Thru 8

This festive celebration of Shabbat is geared towards our children ages 5 through 8 and is led by our own Andrea Massion. Songs, stories, plays and prayers will engage our littlest daveners who will also partake of a festive oneg Shabbat of their own following this monthly Shabbat morning offering from 10:30am to 11:30am.

Mishpaha Magic is Back!

Five special Saturday nights for families with children and/or teenagers! Join us for the first session on November 3rd when the theme will be “Making Bedtime Jewish.” We will make beautiful shma pillowcases for ourselves and for those who are ill and may need a little slumber time blessing. Havdallah, music and yummy snacks are always part of this very popular program.

Kindershule and My Shabbat Space will begin on Saturday, October 20 and are scheduled on the third Shabbat of each month.

The first Early Family Friday Night Service is scheduled for Friday, October 5.
