Taking Hold of Torah
Taking Hold of Torah
Congregants now have the opportunity to take a Torah home in order to explore, study, and literally “to hold.” The Ritual committee and the Board of Directors of PJTC are promoting the Taking Hold of Torah program during the coming year, to bring our members physically closer to the Torah and to raise funds to repair several of our cherished Torahs. The program is named after the book, Taking Hold of Torah, by Arnold Eisen, the new chancellor of the Jewish Theological Seminary.
For $126/week ($18/day), PJTC members can experience the Torah in their home. Instructions will be given regarding the proper care and handling of the Torah along with a free copy of Arnold Eisen’s book!
This is the Torah that Moses set before the people Israel; the Torah, given by God, through Moses.
For questions or to schedule taking a Torah home, contact Mark Esensten or the Temple Office at (626) 798‑1161.
It is a tree of life to those who hold fast to it.
