Bikkur Cholim / Health and Healing Committee

The Babylonian Talmud states, “The beginning and the end (of Torah) is the performance of loving kindness.” PJTC holds in high regard the care of its members, both young and old. Through our Bikkur Cholim / Health & Healing Committee, our community embraces those in need of healing and works to promote health and wellness.
The Committee makes available an Advisory Board comprised of congregants in the health, healing and legal community as well as lay-people who serve as ombudspersons.
Bikkur cholim (visiting the sick) is an experience that enriches our lives while providing comfort and solace to those who are ill or home bound. Some volunteers visit weekly, while others occasionally. All are appreciated.
Calling, providing meals, caring for children or pets, and helping with errands and transportation also helps those individuals stay connected to our community.
A significant component of the committee is education. The committee functions as a health and healing resource through its classes, programs, data base, and printed material that address both secular and uniquely Jewish health concerns.
We welcome volunteers as visitors, to help with program planning and development, or to serve on the Advisory Board.
